the important question of life by catgirl140 the important question of life by catgirl140
I'd doubt a time sweeper who has lived their whole life in the Time Factory that uses portals and spaceships would know.

Discussing the existence of airports in the Blinx universe with :iconnoxivaga: is important to me.

...and now I can't help but wonder how much the time sweepers know about the worlds they supply time to.  From the two games, it seems like most worlds are at least mostly similar but can also have a ton of variation within them (B1Q64 had all sorts of different places), so I'd imagine that nobody would really consider it worth the time (heh, time) when there's usually only a gimmick or two to differentiate one world from another, each of which has a lot of depth to it at the same time.  Maybe similar worlds would be grouped together and have Time Factory staff tasked with understanding them so that nothing unexpected happens if a sweeper's sent somewhere (like NecoJi being cold :u).

On a similar subject, I kind of wonder if worlds the Time Factory gives time to know of its existence.  I can't imagine that they would, but it's also clear that the sweepers go into them on a regular basis, and I wouldn't think that all of its inhabitants would have been turned into time crystals every time it happens, and stopping time while they're in there would probably be a huge waste of resources.  Lena also seemed pretty lax about meeting Blinx, but I suppose she had adjusted to the whole "anthropomorphic time creature" thing after having already been taken by the Tom-Toms.  She also rather peculiarly used the time crystals to bring Blinx back to her, which seems to imply either some familiarity with time crystals or them just being easy to use (and I guess a time sweeper wouldn't need their sweeper to use time controls, either - just storing them).  Lastly, it's also understood when Lena speaks - either there's a common language throughout the worlds, or the cats/pigs can understand all languages from those worlds (Lena's never actually shown to understand any words spoken to her, from what I recall, so it at least makes some sense - it'd be practical for the time sweepers and wouldn't be as contrived as a single shared language).  It's hard to try to work in all of the little implications from events like that.  There's also apparently something of a sizable world outside the time factory, going off of non-Tom-Tom pigs existing (since there was a pig giving a news broadcast thanking the Tom-Tom gang at one point in BLiNX 2), which we'd just have to speculate about a ton.  So much to do :u

I also just realized out of nowhere that the Tom-Toms probably take the phrase "time is money" very literally.

Nobody told NecoJi about the Eversnow world being cold... though the name kinda gives it away. Disappointed.

If we go by our definition of world then it would mean a planet with countries, or at least water and land. This works with the Half-and-Half World where it's a planet with one side in day and the other in night and there are multiple islands.

World B1Q64 has multiple places and if Earth is anything to go by, it's all one the same planet with different regions. Lena is the princess of the world as well so it probably isn't similar worlds/planets grouped together.

I don't think the Time Factory would want beings from other worlds knowing of their existence in general. But if someone knows, it's not really a big deal u
nless they jumped into a portal and went to the Time Factory and they survived. There probably are worlds that do know of their existence but at the moment none of them are hostile. (Just wait til they go to our world.)

Who knows if they share the same language or not. There's no real need for Time Sweepers to be able to communicate with humans and other beings so I don't think they do.

I'll never see the phrase "time is money" the same way again. ._.

I kind of think that if somebody knew about the Time Factory, they'd want time crystals for themselves to control time, seeing as how Lena was able to do exactly that.  It can probably be assumed from that that the Factory would want to keep things under wraps, and it's not like they don't have the means of doing so, what with all of the things that operators can do, along the time controls that the cats have themselves (and they apparently keep them on-hand, seeing as how Blinx just happened to conveniently have a slow on him when the Tom-Tom clones popped up).  That kind of gives me a different perspective on those working in the Time Factory, then - it'd really be a thankless job.

Is it ever explained where the time comes from for the Time Factory and the world around it?  I'd imagine that it comes straight from the goddesses themselves, but that would also probably have meant that they would have been screwed immediately in the beginning of BLiNX 2.

...speaking of the goddesses reminds me that there's that painting with a non-anthropomorphic cat on the ceiling of the control room.  I wonder what a non-anthro cat would be like to them.

The non-anthropomorphic cat is interesting. Depending on the time sweepers' history, they'll probably think of it as the ancestor or something.

I suppose that would make sense.  Either that, or it being some representative depiction of them (humbling themselves in their depiction next to the goddesses, for example).  The idea of them being ancestors makes me imagine the Time Factory with a bunch of housecats using vacuum cleaners and whatnot, though :U

...and now I wish I could draw cats.  I have this beautiful mental image of Time Square being filled with cats on Roombas, rotating and gently bumping into each other.

I guess the Sweepers had to start somewhere.
